South Plains College Engineering department has been preparing pre-engineering majors for engineering programs in colleges and careers since the 1960s. Our program designed for optimum academic success in the subjects of mathematics, science, computer science, and some engineering classes prepares the engineering student for transference to the college of choice by establishing a stealth, intensive, and comprehensive background in the basic fundamentals of engineering which are mathematics and sciences particularly college algebra, trigonometry, linear algebra, and calculus.
Our program offers all the mathematical courses required for an engineering degree. And depending on your choice of engineering, freshman level and some sophomore level classes are offered so that upon transferring to the university, the pre-engineering student continues their academic succession with second semester sophomore or first semester junior level engineering classes.
