- No, admission to South Plains College does no guarantee admission to the Radiologic Technology Program.
Are there prerequisites for entrance to the Radiologic Technology Program?

- Yes, BIOL 2401, BIOL 2402, and MATH 1314 (or higher level MATH) must be completed with a grade of "C" or better in order to apply to the program.
What grades are accepted for the Radiologic Technology Program?

- All courses of the degree plan must be completed with a grade of "C" or better.
Can I apply to the program at any time?

- No, program applications will only be accepted between during the application period prior to the fall semester in which you are seeking admission.
If accepted to the Radiologic Technology program, when will I start program courses?

- The Radiologic Technology Program begins in the fall semester of each year, after successful completion of the courses, over the next 5 semesters, you will finish in the spring. This is a 22 month program.
How many students are accepted each year?

- Each new cohort (class) will consists of 18 students, this number is based on the availability of clinical education space.
How long does it take to complete the Radiologic Technology Program?

- The Radiologic Technology Program is taught over a period of 22 consecutive months (fall, spring, summer, fall and spring).
What will happen after I am accepted into the Radiologic Technology Program?

- Once accepted into the program the student will be financially required to complete

- Physical examination by a medical provider
- Proof of immunizations, declination or exemptions MUST include:
- COVID-19
- Current influenza vaccination

What if I have a criminal background?

- For students in this course who may have a criminal background, please be advised that the background could keep you from being licensed by the State of Texas. If you have a question about your background and licensure, please speak with Program Coordinator. You also have the right to request a criminal history evaluation letter from the applicable licensing agency.
